This Privacy Policy explains what information Traction Law Group, PLLC and its affiliates (“TLG,” “the Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collect, how we use it, with whom we may share it, and the choices you have. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected on our website located at https://www.tractionlaw.com, any webpage that links to this Privacy Policy, any current or future mobile applications associated with TLG, and other online offerings that post a link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services or contacting us, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us Directly
When you contact us by phone, by web form, by email, or by text — including to request a free case review, apply for a position, or communicate with us — you may provide:
- Contact details: your name, phone number, email address, and mailing or location information.
- Case information: details about what happened to your loved one, the funeral home or other provider involved, and other facts you choose to share.
- Documents or photos you choose to send us.
If you retain TLG to represent you, we may also collect information needed to handle your matter and to distribute any settlement or other payments to you, which can include your Social Security number and financial account numbers. You decide what to share. Please do not send confidential or sensitive details until we have agreed in writing to represent you (see our Terms & Conditions).
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect:
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, links clicked, and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookie and analytics data: small data files and similar technologies that help the Services function and help us understand how visitors use them.
- Referral data: the website, search, or ad that brought you to us.
Call Tracking
We use call-tracking technology. When you call a phone number shown on the Services, your call may be routed through a tracking service and may be recorded or monitored for quality, training, case-intake, and marketing-measurement purposes. Call-tracking services may capture your phone number, the date and time of the call, its duration, and the marketing source associated with the number you dialed. By calling us, you consent to this where permitted by law. Some states require all-party consent to record calls; we and our providers aim to comply with applicable recording-consent laws.
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies, including third-party analytics and advertising tools, to operate the Services, measure performance, and improve our marketing. These tools may collect information about your device and browsing activity over time and across websites.
You can usually control cookies through your browser settings, and you may be able to opt out of certain analytics or advertising cookies through the provider’s tools or industry opt-out pages. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Services work. Where required by law, we honor applicable opt-out preference signals.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Evaluate your potential case and decide whether we can help you;
- Respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about your matter by phone, email, or text;
- Provide legal and other services if we agree to represent you;
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services;
- Conduct marketing and advertising, including measuring which ads and pages lead people to contact us and, where permitted, following up with information about our services; and
- Comply with legal and ethical obligations, including conflict checks and record-keeping requirements.
We process this information based on your consent, our legitimate interest in operating and marketing our practice, and our need to take steps at your request before deciding whether to enter into a representation agreement.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information in these limited ways:
- Service providers / processors: vendors who host the Services, manage web forms, provide call tracking and recording, send communications, and provide analytics and advertising measurement. They may use your data only to perform services for us.
- Co-counsel or referral counsel: where you direct or permit it, or where your matter requires an attorney licensed in another state, we may share relevant information with other law firms or lawyers we jointly represent you with, associate with, or refer your matter to, consistent with our ethical duties. Information provided pursuant to an attorney-client relationship is shared only with precautions to preserve its confidentiality and any applicable privilege.
- Legal and safety reasons: when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights, our clients, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar event, subject to this Policy.
Note that some sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain state privacy laws even when no money changes hands; see “Your Privacy Rights” below. We may also disclose aggregate, de-identified information that does not identify you.
Text Messaging
If you provide your mobile number, you consent to receive calls and text messages from us about your inquiry, including by automated means where permitted. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for help. Opting out of marketing texts will not stop transactional messages necessary to handle a matter you have asked us about. Mobile opt-in data is not shared with third parties for their own marketing.
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, evaluate or handle your matter, comply with our legal, ethical, and record-keeping obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods for client and prospective-client records may be governed by applicable bar rules and law. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. However, no website or transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We are not responsible for the security of information you transmit to us over networks that we do not control. Please avoid sending highly sensitive information through web forms or unencrypted email.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to:
- Know or access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete your information (subject to legal and ethical retention requirements);
- Opt out of certain sharing for targeted advertising, sale, or profiling;
- Limit the use of certain sensitive information; and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
To make a request, contact us using the details below or send an email to Info@TractionLaw.com. We will verify your request as required by law before responding. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law.
Children’s Privacy
The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age set by applicable law). If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps. (Information about an injured or deceased minor may, of course, be provided by a parent or guardian seeking help with a claim.)
Using the Services from Outside the United States
If you are using the Services from outside of the United States, please be aware that your personal information may be transferred to, stored, or processed in the United States, where our servers are located and our central database is operated. The data protection and other laws of the United States might not be as comprehensive as those in your country. By using any portion of the Services, you understand and consent to the transfer of your personal information to our facilities in the United States and to those third parties with whom we share it as described in this Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Links
The Services may link to third-party websites, including government sources and social media features, which we provide for your convenience and information. Accessing those links will cause you to leave TLG’s website and may result in the collection of information about you by a third party. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, which may differ from ours. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit before allowing the collection and use of your information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. Changes are effective when posted, and the “Last Updated” date below will reflect the most recent revision. By continuing to use the Services after changes are posted, you agree to accept the updated Policy.
